Our 2025 Year in Review

Dear Friends and Supporters,

As we reflect on 2025, we are filled with gratitude for the incredible generosity, community spirit, and growth we experienced this year. Because of you (our donors, volunteers, local makers, and community partners), we were able to reach more children than ever before.

Here’s a look back at some of the highlights from an amazing year:

January: 1st Christmas Tree Pick-Up

We kicked off the year with our very first Christmas tree pick-up fundraiser!

It was an exciting new initiative, and Adam and Niki loved traveling around the city collecting trees.

This event helped us raise funds while connecting with members of our community in a new way.

April: Fundraising & Giving Back

Charity Fundraiser at The Mansion Kingston

In April, we hosted a Charity Fundraiser featuring trivia, a silent auction, and fun games like Plinko and Perfection. It was an exciting evening made possible by the generous support of local businesses, including The Olive Oil Company, Improbable Escapes, Gino’s Pizza, The Loaf N Ale, Nexus, COBS Bread, Tommy’s, Shiva’s Delight, The Mane Obsession, Smoke N Barrel, and The Mansion itself.

The event was a great success and a wonderful reminder of how supportive our local community is.

Easter Donation to
Kingston Health Sciences Centre

Also in April, we delivered a special Easter donation of adorable crocheted chicks, lovingly made by our talented local makers. These small gifts brought smiles to children and families during the holiday.

May: Community Night with Five Guys

Five Guys Community Fundraiser

We were honoured to partner with Five Guys for a community night, where they donated $1 for every burger, poutine, and hot dog purchased.

The kindness and generosity they showed us was awesome! We also set up a booth to connect with customers and share our mission.

September: Booth at Poutine Feast

Poutine Feast 2025

We attended Poutine Feast for the second year in a row. Our booth featured our popular Monster Hunter game, along with new favourites Plinko and Labyrinth. We also offered free wooden plane kits for children to assemble and paint. This event gave us valuable opportunities to connect one-on-one with community members and raise awareness about our work.

October: Busy Season Preparation

By October, production was in full swing. We were connecting with local makers, coordinating with partner organizations, and preparing for our biggest gift distribution yet!

Year-End: Our Biggest Season Yet

Thanks to the incredible support of our community, we distributed over 600 locally made gifts to children in our city—more than three times the number from the previous year.

We were honoured to support children through The Salvation Army, Children and Family Services, Diocese of Ontario Refugee Support, and Kingston Health Sciences Centre.

These gifts were made possible by the many crafters, artisans, donors, and volunteers who contributed their time, materials, skills, and financial support.

We were also grateful to receive support from the Rotary Club through a community grant, as part of the incredible network of community partners who make this work possible.
